Ipsen Batch Furnaces

TQ & RTQ Type Semi-Continuous Furnace
Ipsen Batch Technology is beyond standard atmosphere equipment offered in North America. Its Integrated Commercial and Technical Expert-Systems offer reduced labor cost, increased reliability, and reproducible parts while its control systems and furnace features offer energy efficiency, cost effectiveness, and higher quality parts.

This proven technology consists of:
  • Innovative furnace design with a durable door system and rigid housing
  • Efficient temper construction
  • Dual-cleaning solution washer
  • Agile material handling system
  • Environmental friendly & energy efficient burner system
I/O (In/Out) Controlled Atmosphere Furnace
The Ipsen® I/O furnace offers innovative features that benefit all phases of your heat treat cycle. During heat-up, a standard internal recuperative U-tube system provides the fastest heating rate and lowest dissipation rate in the industry, while an optional ceramic muffle ensures positive gas recirculation and excellent temperature uniformity. A large quench tank system with variable-flow propeller-type agitators and directional baffles provides precise quenching control. To ensure reliable load handling, a strong Posi-Line™ load transfer chain running through an inch-thick, open-top refractory chain channel prevents jams that can occur with competitive alloy chain guides. For ease of maintenance, top-mounted quench heaters and agitators eliminate below-oil seals, while bung-mounted fans and radiant tubes allow one-piece removal and replacement.
  • Advanced, PLC-based controls with PC-based operator interface
  • Air-cooled recirculation fan bearings
  • Optional ceramic muffle for excellent part temperature uniformity
  • AutoMag™ automation management options
TQ Type Semi-Continuous Furnace

Straight-through processing and production flexibility

For semi-continuous applications, the TQ straight-through design is Ipsen's technology solution. The Ipsen furnace has proved itself to be the industry's most durable and longest-lasting design, featuring numerous innovations for optimized performance. The straight-through design provides clear separation of incoming materials from outgoing processed parts, while access from both ends of the furnace ensures ease of maintenance. Every time the furnace door is opened, the furnace atmosphere is burned out completely and restored to its initial condition, yielding more consistent and reproducible results. No time is spent waiting for quench oil vapors to disperse before charging a new load.
  • Advanced, PLC-based controls with a PC-based operator interface
  • Air-cooled recirculation fan bearings
  • Silicon carbide/alumina composite muffle for excellent part temperature uniformity
  • Full-support silica carbide/alumina composite hearth allows no-grid operation for reduced thermal load and increased service life
Atmosphere Tempering Furnaces

DL - Standard Temper Design
Ipsen® Tempering furnaces reduce energy consumption through the use of a high-density fiberboard hot face backed with fiber insulation. The low heat storage of this lightweight fibrous insulation can help you save hours of heat-up and cool-down time. Utilizing the same rugged design as our carburizing furnaces, the DL provides more reliable performance than "oven-type" constructions. Inert atmospheres are available upon request.

ADIC - Atmosphere Draw with Internal Cool
The Ipsen® ADIC tempering furnace provides pre-heating, tempering, stress-relieving and annealing functions in a true furnace-type construction at temperatures from 350°F to 1400°F (177°C to 760°C). Inert gas purging of the chamber ensures exceptional load-to-load repeatability and clean work, while the bung mounted internal heat exchanger dramatically shortens cycle times for higher productivity. A specially configured alloy plenum provides even gas distribution for precise temperature uniformity.
